Her stride was short, but fast. Wind was playing with her fur, messing it up before it let it go and go back to its normal position, before it picked up the game all over again. Either mud or wet grass bothered her, or the dirt that got stuck in her short fur. Her blue eyes looked around her new home, trying to learn its secrets and lies while her paws got used to the ground. Nobody else seemed to be around this area today and that was exactly how she wanted it for today. For now, she wanted to get a peek at the terrain and its endless beauty alone, before she started reaching out to those who lived here since the very beginning, or those who joined shortly before her.

It was a strange feeling to finally have a steady home. Usually those close to her liked to go away before she had a chance to learn to know them, and before he blinked, she was somewhere else. While those travels never came on her own request, she was almost happy she had a chance to take a small look at the world beyond Heyl, and meet her one and only friend Mio she left behind the same day their caretaker died. Regret was building up within her, partly mixed with relief; she didn’t had to see her best friends disappointment when she told him she was going her own way, she didn’t had to face his anger or – even worse! – relief over her moving away. She could keep her positive memories of him, while she tried to create new ones with someone else around here.

Or would as soon she put a band on her chaotic feelings about meeting new wolves. She have seen them from the distance, and whenever she could, she found a good, hidden spot near the streams and observed Heyls fishers at work. This task was pretty much the only one that interested her, even if she could be a healer if needed. However, between herbs and fishing, catching fish was the best thing in the world. The day she managed to gain enough knowledge about how everything worked around here, she would make sure to become the best fisher she could be.

Ri-chu stopped nearby a big tree and lied down, putting her tail close to her body to keep the wind out. She felt how the wind got colder and colder for each day that came, and it was obvious that the winter was getting closer. She didn’t mind the cold. There was very few things that upset her, and even then she didn’t feel real anger, just slight displeasure. Maybe that was why nobody tried to teach her certain things other wolves seemed to have to know to be able to call themselves worthy member of the pack.

Her eyes moved up to the sky, the blue colour slowly becoming golden red mix. Most leaves have already fallen to the ground, but from time to time she saw another leaf travel down. They were as alone as she had been before, drifting around on waves of life that threw her back and forth between places for its own amusement until the day she hit the lowest and darkest place of her entire life. However, her darkest place ended up leading her into the light and saving her from death. It was the day she learned that there was wolves who cared.

Wolves who were good and cared about strangers like her. Just like Heyl invited those who needed a place to grow and heal, her saviours were just a beginning for a longer adventure. Years of hardship was nothing more than a flash, as fast as a bee that was passing by.

Ri-chu felt sorry for those who were blinded by their own glory so much they stopped caring about those around her. Caring about someone was the best thing there was, it allowed others to find their own path and create a path for others who were lost. A path that lead to understanding and companionship, in some cases, even love. Those who couldn’t see this were the true lost ones who needed help, and if she could, she would open their eyes for this, one by one. And they all would find out that their life have been not only empty, but also meaningless.

This was why she was thankful for meeting Mio, and later on ending up in Heyl. Mio started a path for her she couldn’t see before, and once she found it, it led her to this wonderful place. She was grateful for his kindness, and his understanding. Most of all, she was thankful for Heyls own kindness and all the opportunity’s they laid out before her.
